Captain Samantha Jones is the Recruiting Officer and Associate Professor of Aerospace Studies at the Virginia Military Institute, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC), Detachment 880, in Lexington, VA. In this role, she ensures recruiting and accession standards are kept, and instructs and develops AFROTC program cadets across four college campuses creating future leaders of character for the U.S. Air Force and Space Force.

Captain Samantha Jones commissioned in 2020 through the Air Force Officer Training Corps upon graduating from Virginia Military Institute. After commissioning, Captain Jones provided intelligence support for Air Force Special Tactics at the squadron and group level. She deployed to Ramstein, Germany in 2022 in support of Ukraine during the Russian invasion, leading 38 joint analysts across 25 organizations, advancing NATO’s response in support of the National Defense Strategy’s second priority. Following her deployment in 2022, she served as Squadron Executive Officer for the 720th Operations Support Squadron. Prior to her current position, Captain Jones was the Deputy Officer in Charge of Intelligence Training at the 720th Operations Support Squadron, Hurlburt Field AFB, FL.
