Additional Policies and Information
Summer Session students may choose to live in barracks or off post in Lexington and the surrounding area during the summer term.
Due to summer maintenance and repair schedules, barracks housing is not guaranteed and is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Visiting students seeking barracks housing must complete room and meal registration through the Non-Cadet Summer Session Application.
In accordance with VMI policy, high school students enrolled in Summer Session courses or programs are not permitted to reside in barracks.
Additional information is available on the Enrollment and Policies page.
Students may request a temporary VMI ID card to access academic buildings and other post (campus) facilities during the summer term. Requests for a temporary ID card should be sent to summersession@vmi.edu.
Parking permits may be requested through the application and picked up from the VMI Police Department after registration. Additional information is available on the Enrollment and Policies page.
